INTERVIEW WITH MR. VICTOR CEANO SAVALL – SAVALL CHOCOLATE

1. Kindly tell us something about your work profile/business including yourself.
I’m Víctor Ceano Savall, Founder and Chef of Savall Chocolate. I was born in Barcelona and I belong to a prestigious family that has made chocolate and candies for five generations. The beautiful family shop Pastelería Reñé in downtown Barcelona has been a city icon since it opened its doors in 1892.
2. What made you / your company decided to develop in Asian market especially in Vietnam?
All started with a family trip when I was a kid and since then we fall in love with Vietnam and we came back every summer and I settle here in 2014.
3. How has your professional career or your company’s career developed since then?
I was studying Philosophy and I was making desserts, that my grandfather taught me since I was a little kid, for the finest restaurants and local stores in Barcelona.
4. As far as your sector stands today, what services Savall offers to their clients?
We sell artisanal customized chocolates made with Vietnamese ingredients following the centenary methods of my family to high end resorts, hotels and premium gourmet shops.
5. What do you think are the biggest challenges for this sector in the future?
We are very optimistic that the market is growing and the consumers of high quality chocolate will keep increasing. On the other hand the price of the cacao in the world is rising so the market it will become more exclusive year after year.
6. What type of promotional and communication campaigns do you work on?
We have a very personal contact with our customers through email, whatsapp, then we work on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok.
7. What is your advice to companies interested in your services?

8. Please tell us a little about future plans of your company in Vietnam.
Our future plans at Savall are to grow our market in Asian countries like Japan, Singapore, Korea,… Following our successful business model in Vietnam.
