INTERVIEW – University of Economics & Finance (UEF)

1. Kindly tell us something about your work profile/business including yourself.
– My name is Nguyen Quoc Viet, Director of UEF Spanish and Latin American Institute at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF). Mainly responsible for expanding partnership network and fostering cooperation with Spain and Latin American partners, and international partners across various fields: education, culture, economy, and society…
– UEF operates in the field of education with the goal of becoming a leading university in Vietnam, oriented toward international standards of training under the philosophy of “Quality – Efficiency – Integration.”

2. What made your company decide to develop in the Asian market, especially in Vietnam?
– As one of the major enterprises in the education sector of Vietnam, we recognize Asia, especially Vietnam, as a dynamic and fast-growing market with a young and creative workforce. This represents a great opportunity for UEF to both expand in multiple fields and strengthen international cooperation, integrating the essence of global higher education with the region’s economic transformation in the context of globalization and society’s growing demand for high-quality human resources.

3. How has your professional career or your company’s career developed since then?
– Established in 2007, UEF has achieved rapid growth and now operates two campuses located along Dien Bien Phu Street – Gia Dinh Ward, right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh city, with a modern, internationally standardized learning environment and facilities.
– UEF consistently provides excellent programs and training services (with educational quality accredited by globally renowned organizations). The university continuously expands international cooperation, having established partnerships with more than 500 enterprises and organizations across different sectors. UEF is steadily developing and enhancing the quality of all our operations.
– UEF is currently implementing a new large-scale integrated campus project in South Saigon, aiming to modernize facilities and expand our training capacity.

4. As far as your sector stands today, what services does UEF offer to their clients?
– UEF offers services in training, international cooperation, research, and business connections.
– We focus on delivering high-quality international education solutions (multi-disciplinary programs, international programs, etc.) to meet the diverse needs of our customers and partners.
– We promote collaboration with enterprises (particularly international companies) to provide a high-quality workforce after training, organize internships, and foster corporate connections to encourage growth and investment.
– In addition, UEF continuously organizes cultural and international exchange events, with Spanish and Latin American culture being one of our university’s key focuses, prioritized for development and expansion of cooperation with organizations, partners, and businesses.

5. What do you think are the biggest challenges for this sector in the future?
– Competition in the education sector, market changes, the demand for digital transformation, and international integration all pose significant challenges. UEF has always been innovating, creating, and expanding international cooperation to keep pace with global trends—step by step fulfilling our mission and vision of becoming one of the top universities in Vietnam, a prestigious institution in the region, and a cradle for training successful global citizens ready to contribute to society.

6. What type of promotional and communication campaigns do you work on?
– UEF focuses on multi-channel communication: from digital platforms (website, social media, online press) to offline activities such as seminars, talk shows, experiential days and business matching days.
– Additionally, UEF carries out international promotional campaigns, brand collaborations, and partnerships with enterprises and foreign universities to host cultural exchange activities, thereby spreading the image of UEF as a vibrant, international learning and working environment.

7. What is your advice to companies interested in your services?
– We encourage bilateral cooperation built on long-term mutual benefit, with clearly defined objectives and formalized agreements to establish deep and comprehensive connections.
– Partnering with UEF not only helps businesses access a pool of talented young human resources and co-develop practical programs that deliver sustainable value, but also provides a bridge for brand promotion and multi-sectoral collaboration through UEF’s credibility and extensive network.

8. Please tell us a little about the future plans of your company in Vietnam.
– Continue expanding the international partnership network, especially with Spanish and Latin American partners, to provide Vietnamese students with more international learning opportunities and experiences.
– Accelerate the application of digital transformation and educational technology in teaching.
– Develop more international cultural and academic exchange programs and activities, making UEF a preferred venue for hosting distinctive international events.
